Wait Until Next Year

It breaks your heart. It is designed to break your heart. The game begins in the spring, when everything else begins again, and it blossoms in the summer, filling the afternoons and evenings, and then as soon as the chill rains come, it stops and leaves you to face the fall alone. You count on it, rely on it to buffer the passage of time, to keep the memory of sunshine and high skies alive, and then just when the days are all twilight, when you need it most, it stops.

That Cubs-Diamondbacks series was so weak. I've heard and read about people complaining that the division series games are not on network TV. What Cubs fan would go out of their way to watch that s&#*?

I didn't watch the games for four reasons:
1. I don't have cable TV.
2. I don't hang out in bars.
3. Only one of my friends watches baseball and he's a Yankees fan. Enough said.
4. I had to work during games one and two.

I followed games one and two on the internet during work and I listened to game three on WGN radio. Every time that I turned around during game three, the Diamondbacks hit a home run and the Cubs ground into a double play.

Can we please find (i.e. buy) another decent starting pitcher for '08? Please? I don't think that Lilly has more than one productive year left in him (if we're lucky) and Marquis is ready to implode.

What the heck happened to Serafini?

2007 stats...
G: 3
No W, no L, no SV.
IP: 0.1
R: 2
ER: 2
BB: 2
ERA: 54.00
WHIP: 6.00

Am I going out on a limb to guess that he did not make the Rockies' post-season roster?

I'm not sure that Japan will want him back after that performance.
